Using Love, the Family, and Age
to Like the World:
Aesthetic Realism Shows How!

¡El Realismo Estético Enseña Cómo Podemos Usar
el Amor, la Familia y la Vejez
para que Nos Guste el Mundo!

This is a thrilling presentation for senior citizens by Aesthetic Realism consultants Anne Fielding and Jeffrey Carduner.  Men and women are going to learn-with practical immediacy-what Aesthetic Realism, the philosophy founded by Eli Siegel, the great American poet and critic, explains: the most urgent need for every person is to like the world on an honest basis. And this lively and kind presentation-with audience participation-shows seniors how they can!

Anne Fielding and Jeffrey CardunerMs. Fielding and Mr. Carduner are popular speakers in the NYC area, including at metropolitan area Senior Centers. Using examples from their own lives, and instances of poetry, painting, and the drama, they speak of what Aesthetic Realism shows: there is a fight in every person between the desire to care for things, see new possibilities in the world, and the desire to have contempt, "the addition to self through the lessening of something else."

Women and men are invigorated as they learn to see other people, the family, everyday objects, and the opposite sex in a way that is fair, fresh, and really kind-based on the great principle stated by Eli Siegel, "The world, art, and self explain each other: each is the aesthetic oneness of opposites."  A palm tree, for example, with its graceful, wide-spreading fronds and sturdy trunk, puts together opposites we want to put together-flexibility and firmness, softness and sharpness, contraction and expansion. Seeing how the opposites are in things, oneself, art, reality -men and women get new and deep perception, more life!
