The Dark Angels
Charcoal; 19 X 26 in.

"This drawing was inspired by the Aesthetic Realism idea I learned from Eli Siegel that an animal can represent our conscience. These elephants, in their massive darkness, are like benevolent angels, bringing a very cheerful message from the depths of the world to the recumbent figure in the foreground."
Mr. Koppelman is an Aesthetic Realism consultant.
